![]() ![]() One thing which makes it slightly easier is to disable both Bluetooth and Infra-Red networking on your laptop before you install VMWare and leave them disabled. ![]() If you PM me with the exact problems you're having I'll try to help but it's a bit of a difficult thing to install as each laptop requires slightly different configuration especially when it comes to setting up the virtual network adapters. There is a lot of information out there is an excellent site. This has much of the Unix pre-configuration already done since the image was created by a team of guys from ECUBB including Ken Fister who is the guru when it comes to BMW diagnostics. Secondly, try and get hold of the version known as 'Easy DIS'. Then do the instructions as per SHOULDERS.Firstly you will make sure you're using 32bit Windows to be successful (ideally Windows XP pro). You need to unpack it and load it as the floppy in VMware. The typically aquired package is a bit messy and could do with a bit of housecleaning but you will find in it a file called "custom image.img" this is in zip/rar file in the DOCS section. If the password doesn't work when you CTRL+ALT+F1 at the touch-screen calibration stage that's because the previous step (Shadowfile Copy) didn't work or was skipped. I missed this and it just leaves you with a blank curser after its restarted unless you boot from CDĤ. ![]() This means that each time it restarts you've got to (in VMware at least) press ESC and select boot from CD. Once you've swapped to the "BMW GT1 Base V39", it reboots about 3 or 4 times before installing. In VMWare when booting from "BMW Install CD GT1 V1.1.nrg":ĭisk partition error seemed to go when I set to hard disk size (pre-allocated) to 18.65GB this could have been a coincidence but stick at it! It does work.ģ. ![]() I must point out I'm not very good at following instructions.Ģ. I'm a software engineer and it's taken me weeks. You must follow the guide by shoulders letter for letter. Failing APItest: but I just wanted to share my experiences thus far.ġ. I've install GT1/DIS finally but I haven't got it working with hardware yet. ![]()
